We are a dynamic, psychotic and very lovable poly family with equally crazy cats who’s goal in life is to torture our poor dog.

I have been in this lifestyle since 1983 as a submissive, growing to be a slave, graduating to Trainer and finally putting on the Leather of a Mystress/Master.  My favorite saying is “your pain is my puddle”.   My area of expertise ranges from CBT to knives and pushing the pain boundaries one strike further then the bottom thinks they can go.

My dream for LeatherMagick was for nothing more then a little charity to help out folks when then needed just a little lift.  When the first loan/grant was given, the first set of helping hands reached out, and the first fund raiser by this community stocked a kitchen pantry that dream was met and has grown by leaps and bounds.   I would love to see LeatherMagick become the model that other communities emulate.  We are a great community with the potential to be come even greater.  I believe in us and in the very soul of what makes us a community.

If playing Amazon warrior and tying up the boys as kid is any indication I’ve been kinky my whole life.  I didn’t become a member of the community until my daughter was in high school.  After doing a lot of lurking on the edges I finally joined the New England Dungeon Society, dove in headfirst, and ended up becoming the webmistress for their site. 

Who I am now is the result of acknowledging and accepting that I am a kink person. I have been able to be more assertive and supportive.  I no longer hide on the sidelines, I’ve started my own business and  I have recently separated from my clan and relocated to beautiful Colorado. 

Oh yea, and how did I become involved with LeatherMagick? – opened my mouth, made a suggestion and fell into the Mys Valeria Vortex.  I hope LeatherMagick will continue to grow and continue to be able to provide assistance to the Leather community.

   Kuma has been involved in the Colorado leather community dating back to the early 90’s, and has been in the lifestyle for over 20 years. His experience spans both sides of the flogger and includes elements ranging from old guard leather influences to deeply spiritual and energetically focused play.  He prides himself on his emphasis of service to his community in a variety of ways. His strong spiritual background has seen him serve as an adviser and counselor on many occasions to both groups and individuals.

   Groups and clubs he is or has been affiliated with include, PEP Denver, DADS, NLA Denver, Uncommon Ground, Denver Bound, Scarlet Moons, Colorado Danse of Life, The Labyrinth, The Harbour, and The Sanctuary where he is a gatekeeper for the Gateway entry level program to the lifestyle. He has been a volunteer at Thunder in the Mountains on several occasions and is privileged to be one of the dungeon monitors for that event.

     He is a creative and intense player, skilled in many facets of the lifestyle and specializes in the energy and spirituality that can enhance the power exchange relationship. He is a switch and proudly embraces all that entails. He is a toymaker of some note and his wooden paddles and canes are well known for his craftsmanship and beauty.

I’ve always been different than those around me.  I was highly sexually aware at a very young age, but not from abuse, just accidentally had a lot of orgasms.  Ooops! 

I wish I had known there were such things as BDSM Communities and events 20 years ago rather than in Spring of 2007, things would have been a lot different, but perhaps they wouldn’t have been better.  I’ve found it now, jumped in head first, and I’m not leaving!

The first thing I went to was a class for newbies, the second was a Dominants meeting, and the third was a play party.  I attended classes religiously at first and asked others to teach me and that has been the foundation of my experience so far. The classes, mentoring, support and camaraderie in Denver are better than I could ever have imagined.  A significant benefit for me has been that I have played with so many different people with varied interests and each one is a learning experience … um, and fun…lots of wicked fun. 

I’ve finally been able to be the real me.  Its been a fantastic journey of discovery and I know I’m not alone in being wicked and sadistic.  The best part though, is that there are those out there that naughty and masochistic!  I don’t have to hold back or hide my desires, its like utopia for me, I’m finally free.  I still have to hide much of my lifestyle at work, but that’s easy enough. “Respect my authori-tie” (south park)  :P

Recently I went on a trip to Hedonism II in Jamaica .  I just loved it there and being nekked on the beach each afternoon, or socializing in a hot tub of nekked people, just a blast.  The best part was that I got some staff and other guests to help me find willing spankees while I was there.  I got one boy cuffed to the disco stripper pole and another got tied to a tree on the beach.  It was fun to awe (shock?) people who consider themselves kinky.  :D

As a community, the more we can come out to friends and family, the better it will be for us in mainstream society.  If those who are supposed to love you can’t accept the lifestyle that makes you happy, then how can we ever expect to be accepted by strangers?  Embrace who you are to find your happiness and others will support your choices when they make you happy.  They’ll never support something that causes harm or that a person feels shame over.
